Schönbrunn Palace

This Palace is part of the UNESCO’s world cultural heritage site due to the historic importance. From 1848 to 1916 the Emperor Franz Joseph lived in this palace with his wife Sisi. Later it became the property of the new Republic of Austria. The rooms of the Palace are decorated in Rococo style and most of the walls and ceilings have gold leafs on them. Mozart 1772 at age 6 performed a concert in the Hall of Mirrors.

In the round Chinese room, Maria Theresa held secret conferences with Prince Kaunitz and Napoleon met his generals in the Vieux Laque Room. The Room of Millions one of the most beautiful Rococo room in the world is where the Austrian Government greets important heads of state visiting Austria.
