This superb example of high gothic architecture located on the Ile de la Cite’ in Paris is a site that is often overlooked but most definitely worth visiting. The Sainte Chapelle or Holy Chapel was begun in 1242 and finished in 1248by King Louis IX. It has a lower and upper chapel. The Upper chapel was reserved for the King and held holy relics. Today you can enjoy the spectacular stained glass windows in the upper Chapel which cover a 600 Square meters or over 6,400 Sq. feet.
